Alexis Childress (1993) is an Atlanta based mixed media artist born and raised in Illinois, relocating to Georgia in 2013 and currently residing in Florida since 2021. Inspired by Afrofuturism, her work uses technology and digital art to examine societal systems, culture, and autobiography. She received her BFA from Georgia State University in 2020 and her work has been shown with Good News Arts, Camayuhs Gallery, MINT Gallery, Atlanta Photography Group, Rhode Island Center of Photographic Arts and Day and Night Projects. She is self-published author, and her work has been published in Burnaway Magazine, Create! Magazine and Under the Bridge Zine. She was also a recipient of the Red Bull Arts Microgrant as well as a semifinalist in The Print Center’s 96th annual competition.
